Not a bad score at all as if you round it off, it’s actually a perfect TEN already. From the looks of that rating, we can say the Audiobook is Good TO READ!

Gussie (Augusta) is a member of the Werth family, who are know for their eccentricities and strange magic. She seems to be the one young person without magic in her family. The first 2/3 of the book is an Edwardian adventure where we learn that she is a bit more than she seems. I enjoyed this tale of personal discovery. We meet another family and attend a ball, so it is all in the Edwardian spirit.The last third of the book has Gussie and some of her family go off on an adventure to examine a mysterious book. I did not find this new plot engaging. First, it is not proper that she participate, to which her response is that the Werth family is not proper so what does it signify? She is not constrained by the expectations of society, which is a very modern and ahistorical view of women in English society. She does not appear to have any particular talent for the investigation, and although she is described as a wit, she mainly comes off as snide. If this book is the beginning of a series, then I am concerned that the last portion of tale does not bode well for future books. It looks like the adventures of Gussie and her odd friends, and in this installment I did not find it compelling.Given the setup, it might have been a romance. It was not, which is fine.
